Adult Individual Therapy

Child/Adolescent Individual Therapy

Do you feel that, despite your best
efforts, something has not gone as well as you had hoped? I enjoy working with adults of all ages, and especially college-aged and young adults looking to make positive changes at a time in life when there are many choices to make.

You may find yourself feeling increasingly anxious or depressed during these adjustment periods. The goal of individual therapy is improving yourself. Many times, we give so much of ourselves to others that we lose focus on our own happiness. Individual therapy can help to reduce symptoms related to anxiety, depression, and anger while
increasing self-confidence, reaching goals, and learning coping skills.

If you are struggling with life adjustments or symptoms impacting your mental health, solution-focused, skill based therapy may assist you greatly. Stress management, emotion management, mindfulness, and healthy relationship skills are essential to feeling happier.

I base my approach on the belief that the client is the expert on his or her circumstances and that my job as a therapist, is not to dictate treatment, but to shape the process using the values, desires and needs of my clients.

Are you a worried parent losing sleep about your child? Are things not getting better? Do you fear this is not just a phase? Are you tired of getting calls from the school? Perhaps you are seeking therapy for your child because they don’t listen, have social difficulties, are anxious, or angry. My background in education and child development has led me into the field of therapy, and I am inspired to help support clients navigate through life challenges.

I am a school social worker offering counseling services to children and adolescents. I successfully connect with youth of all ages and I have experience with a wide variety of family and child situations.

Therapy can improve teenagers’ ability to manage overwhelming emotions and stressors unique to their generation. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; these approaches are coping skills based, widely researched, and often a highly effectively modality to improve teen and family emotional coping skills.

My major focus is on developing and reinforcing skills which research show to foster healthy child development, self esteem and relationships while assisting families in developing nurturing and enriching environments for all members.
