Sheila Trabelsi, MA, LPC, LAC

Throughout life, it is not uncommon to have moments where you need additional support to get through life’s challenges. Whether you’re struggling with substance use, relationship challenges, trauma, a challenging transition, identity exploration, or just the day-to-day stress of managing life, we’ll work together to find the solutions and tools that will ease your symptoms and, most importantly, help you heal, grow and reach goals. My therapeutic approach is straight forward, positive, strength-based, and centers around creating a safe, nurturing environment where you will see self-growth and improvement in your life. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey of self-exploration, discovery and positive change.

Currently, I work with adult clients utilizing a variety of empirically supported psychological treatments including, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT(dialectical behavior therapy), mindfulness, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Coaching strategies. Where applicable, I also incorporate experiential treatment modalities such as trauma-informed yoga practices and art as coping strategies and to support exploration.

We all need help sometimes and want someone who understands, someone you resonate with, and someone who knows how to help. Looking for support and guidance is courageous, and I would be honored to co-create the next steps in your life journey. While focused on your own goals in therapy, my hope is that you to leave our sessions with tangible skills, feeling stronger, more resilient, self-aware, and hopeful about your future.

Additional Experience/Training

I am a dually credentialed licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor with over 12 years in the field. I partner with my clients struggling with substance use, embracing a harm reduction approach, meeting clients where they are at in their recovery journey, providing psychoeducation, and identifying replacement coping strategies to promote a healthier lifestyle, while addressing causes to use. Working together we will establish both short- and long-term recovery goals in an effort to reinforce positive behavior change.
