Are you feeling disconnected, uncertain about your future, struggling to define yourself socially or professionally? We are all searching for ways to lead fulfilling lives, but sometimes we struggle to find the things that will help sustain us or the obstacles of life can begin to feel overwhelming.  I help adults, adolescents and families navigate difficult times, explore and integrate past traumas and become aware of maladaptive thought patterns and habits. I’ll support you in developing greater insight and trust in yourself, managing chronic sadness, stress, interpersonal issues, trauma and silencing the voice of shame.

As a client-centered therapist, I provide a warm and engaging space for exploration, learning, and support.  I utilize a collaborative client-centered approach to provide the balance between supporting and challenging you that is necessary for promoting personal growth and change.  I view internal struggles as adaptive responses to social, political, environment, historical, biological, and familial contexts. That said, there are times when habitual responses feel overwhelming or even unbearable, and support is needed to tolerate and understand root causes.

I also enjoy specifically working with teenagers and young adults, as I find that these stages of life are ripe with challenges, while simultaneously providing ample space for personal growth.  I work with adolescents and their families to navigate this difficult time while helping adolescents to become independent, but still maintain the relationship with the family.  I have experience treating a wide range of issues(depression, suicidal ideation, bullying, behavior problems, substance abuse, etc).

I have a passion for working with youth and adults in the LBGTQ community.  As a clinician specializing in LGBTQ concerns, it is my mission and expertise to provide a space where healing and self-love can emerge. I have had success with LGBTQ adolescents who have struggled to accept themselves, are struggling with transitions and/or stressors related to school, career, health, loss, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status, and social-cultural issues.

My passion is to empower and uncover intrinsic wholeness through conversation, art, movement, body awareness, and mindfulness practices. My modalities come from my training in wilderness therapy and continuing education in trauma/attachment work and DBT.
