Whether you are recovering from trauma, grief, loss, or other mental and emotional stress, I will assist you in discovering the therapy tools that best support your overall well-being. I will invite you to break free of non-productive and self-sabotaging cycles. I will introduce you to skills such as mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition, hypnotherapy may be utilized for those who are interested in this modality. These approaches will help you sustain healthy habits, patterns, behaviors, as well as promote effective communication with others. I offer a collaborative process so that you are empowered to meet the goals that are important to YOU. I emphasize helping clients discover and apply practical solutions.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is another tool that is often successfully used in therapy. I have been using this life-changing technique
for over 20 years. This empowering somatic modality combines the principles of Chinese acupressure and modern cognitive behavioral therapy. This approach gets to the core issue of stress and trauma. Emotional Freedom Technique is an evidenced-based therapy using the criteria published by the American Psychological Association (APA).
Clients who are interested in using this modality often find that it clears their mind of self-defeating thoughts, and quiets a racing mind. This process releases distress from the mind-body system, and allows creative insights, relaxation, and a sense of peace. It provides space for insight, new perspectives, and practical solutions.
I have a passionate interest for working with clients who struggle with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety; as well as ADHD. In addition, I have experience in working with addicts in recovery, survivors of narcissist abuse, trauma, grief, and those struggling with medical illness. Women and men who are navigating mid-life transitions, such as aging, can explore opportunities for growth and personal development.
If you are struggling with daily stress that you find overwhelming, you will find a safe place to heal and grow. You will learn how to tap into your inner wisdom, and apply what you have learned to your daily life. This journey provides a comfortable way to discover your authentic self with compassion, creativity, and a sense of humor.
For the past 23+ years I have been a practicing psychotherapist providing competent, empathic services that assist my clients in meeting the goals most important to their journey. I work with adolescents, adults of all ages, providing individual, family and couples counseling. I earned a degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1999. In addition, I have completed a Transpersonal Hypnotherapy program.
