Elizabeth Langbauer, MSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a dedicated Social Worker and emotional health therapist.  I love helping empower people to learn, grown and cope; to re-engage in the joys and opportunities of life.  My true passion is therapy: one-on-one, deep connections forged to nurture a wholehearted, joyful, and fulfilling life. There is nothing more thrilling to me than helping someone discover that they don’t have to live their lives in a constant state of distress or despair.

My work is informed by a holistic philosophy. This drives me to help people search for balance and well-being throughout all aspects of life including emotional, physical, spiritual, social, filial, and academic or work-related areas. It helps me look at each case as a unique situation and be prepared to address it in a unique way. To that end, I help clients identify and take ownership of their core beliefs and core values, their own stories, their own thoughts, feelings, and needs, their own perceptions, their own realities, their own habits, and their own strengths.

My favorite modalities to do this range from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) to visualization to a Dungeons and Dragons therapy group. I use some narrative treatment style, EMDR, game playing, art-based work, journaling or homework, and more. I teach meditation, relaxation, coping skills, communication and assertiveness skills, and promote the prioritization of SELF care, particularly through intention and mindfulness work. I strive to cultivate each and every session with each and every client into whatever that person needs in that moment. I have no end of faith in or compassion for my clients, but am also willing to “push” them and to emphasize accountability.

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, ages 13 and up.  I provide counseling and education regarding emotional fatigue, grief, physical disabilities, health concerns, social isolations, trauma, anxiety, poor self-esteem, relationship difficulties and depression.  I have a passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with major health problems, trauma survivors and with young adults seeking life direction.  I have worked a great deal with individuals on the high-functioning end of Autism Spectrum.

More personally speaking, I am very up-front: what you see is what you get. My sincerity, compassion, and love of life are not “nine-to-five” traits. I am endlessly endeavoring to practice what I preach, nurturing my own efforts towards self-care and life fulfillment. I am passionate about social justice and environmental protection. I love animals, I love being a mom. I love working in my garden. I also love reading, music, a wide variety of art and handcrafting, and outdoor activities like hiking, paddleboarding, and camping. I am not a big fan of crowds, I am hopelessly clumsy, and I am just as susceptible to binge-watching a good TV show as the next person. I work hard to truly be the person I want people to think I am, accepting myself as the mixed bag that I am, and striving to be the “best” mix I can be.
